About Florida Auto Exchange

It all started in January of 1988. We opened our store at 1901 Main st in an old house on eight acres of land in Dunedin. We began selling inexpensive used cars and learned very quickly there was a huge need to help our customers finance their purchase. So it wasn't long before we began to finance our customers purchases. We also found there was a need to service the cars we were selling. So within the year we added a service department. In the 6 years we were at that location we were able to grow enough to purchase the location where we are today on the corner of Main St. and Belcher Rd in 1994.

In 1997 Rent A Used Car Rental which is located just a quarter mile from us across 580 came available for purchase. We bought this location and the car rental operation because of the auto repair facility at that location. With our auto repair business ever increasing we needed more room so we moved our service and office to that location at 2300 State Road 580. In 2004 the auto repair facility next door became available and we purchased that to expand our auto repair business. In 2007 we were granted an Isuzu franchise that we moved into our property at 2316 State Road 580. In 2009 Isuzu stopped selling vehicles in the United States so we turned that property back into a service facility and added the Lightning Lane quick lube center to our service menu. During all this time we have become a consistent sales leader in the tri county area.

It has been a pleasure to serve the residents of Dunedin and the surrounding area for over 35 years. We strive every day to provide all our customers with the best customer service you can get. Job Summary:
The Buy Here Pay Here Collector is responsible for the collection and maintenance of the company’s and related finance company’s account receivable vehicle loans. This position is responsible for the ensuring that all legal and company policies are followed in the maintenance and collections of the company accounts. Rate of Pay: $21.00 to $23.00 hourly

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Processing payments
Processing partial payments
Reminder calls
Payment calls
Verification and follow up on loan applications
Monitor, create and respond to emails from other company departments
Follow up on promise to pay and arrangements
Follow up on delinquent accounts (skip tracing and processing repossessions as needed)
Processing insurance and GAP claims
Monitor, create and respond to departmental emails
Assist debtors in person and via phone, email and mail
Assist, negotiate and process payment arrangements to resolve delinquencies
Process and negotiate payment arrangements for service repairs
Process incoming mail, returned mail and insurance notices
Process bankruptcy notices
Record information regarding the status of the customer, their account and payments
File documents physically and electronically
Provide information to other departments and managers as requested
Inventory repossessed vehicles
Other duties to be assigned as needed to meet company needs and meet strategic objectives

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to communicate information effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to analyze and solve simple and complex problems.
Ability to apply logic and reasoning
Proficiency in office suite of products (word, outlook, excel)
Proficiency in navigating the internet.
Ability to utilize computer databases and customer management software.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Ability to interpret and process a variety of information, instructions and variable.
Driving history that meets the company requirements to be covered by general liability insurance.

Education, Certificates and Licenses and Experience:

Valid driver’s license.

2 years of related experience.
Buy Here Pay Here Experience preferred.
Subprime collections experience preferred.
